UKIP conference kicks off with its usual cock up.

UKIP can never be accused of original thinking. Look at BNP election poster below circa 2010

bnp

Then look at UKIP's 2015 poster unveiled by Farage today at the Torquay conference

If you can't beat them copy them springs to mind.  UKIP never do their homework! They are a bunch of hopeless amateurs.

It all reminds me of their last Bannerman written manifesto which was a rehash of the last 20 years of Tory manifestoes. Last time it was Godders biffing Crick with a UKIP document. This time its Crick being kept away from Hamilton. Deja vu all over again.

Duffy on AQ, Atkinson on QT, 5/10

For Duffy click http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b03ttmf6

For Atkinson click http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b006t1q9

Atkinson is Farage's Andreasen replacement on SE  list. Both look very similar. Nigel's type obviously. She has a tougher job than Duffey with the delicicious and intelligent Cristina Odone to compete with on the looks stakes

Both were passable at the start parroting the Farage line but were shown up later when the had to think for themselves, Duffy especially so by the oleaginous Vaz. Odone is not a party politician but is a very nice woman so gave Atkinson an easier time.

I am off once more to recharge my batteries so no more bloging for 2 weks unless I can locate a free WiFi at one of our ports of call. Alors c'est l'heure or Hello Sailor as the homosexuals Anglais say

Osborne is a public school bully

His pal Cameron's nickname is Flashman whom you will remember was the evil bully in Matthew Arnold's book Tom Brown's schooldays. What is going on now is typical public school bullying behaviour. Joined by Milliband and Clegg kicking the smallest boy in the class as Farage once put it. The intervention by HMT comes into the same category. Scots don't like bullies. Its accepted behaviour in public schools but thank God there are relatively few such schools in Scotland.

I have just listened to Henry McLeish the Labour former Scottish first on Radio 4 saying Osborne has badly misjudged the mood of the Scottish people and his ill timed speech will drive Scots into voting Yes for independence. Exactly!

I watched Nicola Sturgeon rebut a full scale onslaught from Andrew Neil on today's Daily Politics. Neil is not impartial in this matter, he is strongly pro union but he and his opo Cockburn never laid a glove on Nicola.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-26175407

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-26175401

and finally she gave some quick honest aswers to Neil's sneaky questions. Compare that with Cameron, Osborne, Clegg and Milliband's weasel words and evasions. Is it any wonder the Yes vote is now building in Scotland

Below is a 7 minute clip on Facebook of Nicola with A Tory and an English Democrat!

https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=826746310675562

This is an argument about who will rule Scotland. The SNP's best recruiting sergeants are Cameron, Osborne, Clegg and Milliband. Three London based public schoolboys and a North London Jewish intellectual. Alex Salmond does not have to do or say anything. Every time any of those four pontificate on Scotland wee Eck's stock rises. He is a Scot born, educated and domiciled in Scotland. He was educated at the local Linlithgow secondary school and St Andrews University The others are the London metropolitan elite, three Oxford and one Cambridge, two members of the notorious Bullingdon club.

Scots will choose to be ruled by one of their own just as the Aussies and New Zealanders and all free people are.

England cannot stop an independent Scotland using Sterling

No more than the US Treasury can stop drug dealers over the world using the US dollar. Indeed it can be argued that the US Treasury policy de facto encourages the us of  the US dollar as the drug dealers currency of choice.

The Adam Smith institute have just published this penetrating view.

“An independent Scotland would not need England’s permission to continue using the pound sterling, and in fact would be better off using the pound without such permission.
“There is very little that an English government would actually be able to do to stop Scottish people from continuing to use the pound sterling if they wanted to.
“As the American economist George Selgin has pointed out, what the Prime Minister really means is that the Bank of England would not act as a guarantor for Scottish banks or the Scottish government. Lucky Scotland: the implied promise of a bailout from the European Central Bank is exactly what allowed Eurozone banks and governments to borrow cheaply and get themselves into a debt crisis.
“Scotland’s position would be closer to that of countries like Panama, Ecuador and El Salvador, which use the US Dollar without American “permission”, and, according to research by the Federal Reserve of Atlanta, consequentially have far more prudent and stable financial systems than if they were part of a formal currency union.
“An independent Scotland that used the pound as its base currency without the English government’s permission, with banks continuing to issue notes privately and private citizens free to choose any currency they wanted, would probably have a more stable financial system and economy than England itself.
“It’s up to Scots to decide whether they want independence, but the Chancellor’s announcement today should be seen as a feature, not a bug.”

That is the truth. The whole Scots cannot use the pound argument is a scare story got up by LibDemCon and A Darling. In fact it would be great for Scotland as pointed out.

Getting politicians involved with monetary policy and banking is always bad news. Right at the start of the financial crisis in 2008 when there was a  run on Northern Rock, a comparitively small bank, the wrong decision to nationalise the bank was made for  for political reasons. There were a lot of Labour MPs in the North East. Wim Buiter, the best economist ever on the MPC got it right on day one. When interviewed he simply said, "Let it go bust". NRock was not to big to fail. There was no systemic risk if it failed and it would have stopped the spread of banking malpractice in its tracks.  It would have been cathartic.

The disatrous RBS takeover of ABN Amro had already been waved through by  the useless FSA but a bankruptcy of N Rock would have prompted a faster emergence of this disaster and more effective immedite action.
The final political disaster was G Brown waiving through the Llyods takeover of HBOS against competion rules. Done to ensure Labour retained a crucial seat in the Glenrothes by-election. Many HBOS workers lived in Fife in Glenrothes.
So as the Adam Smith institute point out Scotland losing control of interest rate policy is not necessarily a bad thing. All its given to England is a huge London housing bubble which will soon produce massive social unrest.

Scotland has nothing to fear and cannot be stopped from continuing to use Sterling!

PS Cable is as always talking rubbish. I quote from today's Guardian,

However, McEwan played down comments from UK BusinessMinister Vince Cable suggesting it was inevitable the bank would relocate its headquarters from Edinburgh to London in the event of a "yes" vote.

Lord Lust, UKIP & Nigel Farage

This is the title of a Daily Mail piece, click below to read it

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2554783/UKIP-mans-chief-backer-porn-star-called-Lord-Lust-Nigel-Farages-pledge-weed-Walter-Mittys.html

Lord Lust is a part UKIP backer James Hadfield Hyde once portrayed. He nominated UKIP's Wythenshaw candidate John Bickley. How did he evades Farage's weeding programme designed to root out Walter Mitty types?

Eccentirc: Bickley's backer, James Hadfield-Hyde

James HH

John Bickley looks like a good candidate to me. A pity he has to be photographed  with NF

Strategy: Mr Bickley on the campaign trail in Wythenshawe, Manchester, with UKIP leader Nigel Farage, right

The media are seriously cranking up the anti UKIP campaign. Like Saddam Hussein's statue Farage will eventually be toppled. The only question is will EUKIP survive ?

Swiss have a people's democracy we have party political elites

I have long wanted the UK to become a democratic country for its people on the Swiss model. Who is the Swiss PM or President? I bet you don't know! I don't. That shows how power resides with the Swiss people not a self serving political elite. That is how it should be.

Yesterday the Swiss voted in a binding referendum to restrict immmigration from the EU. There is a good account of the impact this vote will have on Richard North's blog. Click:

http://www.eureferendum.com/blogview.aspx?blogno=84696:

I decided to write on this last night but Richard got there first. I hope he does not mind me summarising his salient points below.

"Much to the Swiss federal government's chagrin, the outcome obliges it to turn the Swiss People's Party (SVP) initiative into law within three years, imposing quotas on immigrants from the EU.

Apparently, we are told, there will not just be quotas but also restrictions on the right of foreigners to bring in family members and access social services. Businesses must give Swiss nationals priority when hiring staff. There will be a new clause in the constitution stating that migration must serve the nation's economic interest."

23% of the Swiss population of 8 million is foreign born. The comparable UK figures are 13%  for the 7.5 million foreigners.

Richard notes, "This puts Switzerland on a collision path with the EU. The entire set of EU relations could be suspended under a guillotine clause which can be triggered if any part of the EU-Swiss agreement is violated."

It will be interesting to watch how this develops. EU comissione Reding was on Radio 4 this morning not answering any difficult questions abbout what the EU wil or indeed can do about this.

Far more important is, ", this puts the people in direct confrontation with their own ruling elites. They have had enough and, despite the entire establishment warning them of dire consequences, the majority have taken their stand." I hope my own Scottish countrymen will show similar courage in their Scottish Independence vote and not defer to the self appointed 'experts'. If there is one lesson from our Somerset floods its is listen to those on the ground who live there and don't listen or defer to experts based in London especially Sirs,  Lords and Dames..

The difference is the Swiss are not deferential to their supposed betters like the English and to a lesser extent the Scots. I was astounded how defential UKIP supporters were in 2009 to the belted Earl, William Legge in choosing their MEP candidates. He was a failed Tory and in my book that made him a candidate with political baggage.but Farage likes the aristos and indeed hopes to join tham soon. That is why the Swiss have democracy and their country and we have Cameron and Milliband and a moteley mess of special interest groups.           .

Farage visits Somerset Levels at last!

After Prince Charles, Lord Pooh ba Smith and call me Dave visited with great TV photo footage Nigel simply could not stay away. I am a bit upset he did not call in to see me. We live only 6 miles from Mulchenly and our children went to school 2 miles from there. TV cameras attract Nigel like shit attracts flies. You can see how it went by clicking links below.

He obviously could not fool the Somerset inhabitants the way he fools UKIP believers.

Cameron is running scared

As in today's Scotsman cartoon:

View image on Twitter

Or in the Scottish vernacular beloved of Andrew Neil he is feart of Alex Salmond. He gives speeches on Scotland from East London and then scuttles off to Somerset to take easy questions on dredging Somerset rivers. Dead easy because every body now knows the idiot quango Smith should never have stopped the dredging.

Smith is a great example of why ex, clapped out politicians should not be appointed to run quangos they know nothing about. Appoint from within and get somebody who knows something about the job and worry less about media handling. Its like the the new blonde bimbo coding czar on Newsnight who confessed she knows nothing about coding!

Salmond has Cameron on the run. The last Old Etonian PM good old Sir Alec was widely detested in Scotland and particularly in Selkirk. As the Selkirk lads used to sing, its up wi' the soutars of Selkirk, and doon wi the craven Lord Home. His family had earned  a reputation for cowardice following the catastrophic Scottish defeat at Flodden in 1513 by the much maligned Catherine of Aragon's organised army.

As Private Eye wrote of Sir Alec that having helped Eden start WWII he retired to his bed for the duration with something wrong in the region of his back.

Clearly Cameron is scared of something. Why does England want to hold onto Scotland at all costs? What's in it for Cameron had his posh boy friends? Time will reveal all.

UKIP and the SNP: Compare and contrast

There is a good piece in this weeks Spectator on the SNP by Alex Massie click below to read it

 http://www.spectator.co.uk/features/9131482/union-in-peril/

Its worth reading if only because Alex Massie actually lives in Edinburgh as opposed to London based media  self appointed Scotland experts who only listen to their own inane baboon like gibbering.

There is clearly an attempt by the London based BBC at news management on this issue with wealthy businessmen, Sorrell, Bo Didley etc being headlined in sequence to say what a disaster it will be for their business and presumably their bonuses if Scotland leaves the union. These are interleaved with the usual scare stories on new regulators plus today's special in the DT headlined, "Independent Scotland would force RBS to London". The source? Old misery guts EU loving Cable who then added that the price of postage stamps would rise in an independent Scotland. This further confirms my views on LibDem's inbuilt insanity. The Scottish finance minister simply quoted the RBS chief executives view. We already operate in 38 different countries so it will be no problem to operate in 39.

What the BBC cannot do is attack the SNP on financial, party governance or sex scandals. These are the monopoly of LibLabCon. Alex S has made damn sure the SNP is squeaky clean.

But what of UKIP the other nationalist party in our island. Compared to the SNP which is within 6 months of achieving independence for its people UKIP is an abject failure riven with no hope of ever getting out of the EU. It's been bought and paid for with EU bribes, infilitrated by Tory moles with a fresh scandal every week. Its not even a party. It's a Nigel Farage cult. Who is UKIP's finance spokesman? We now all know their Commonwealth spokesman was sentenced to 7 years for kidnap and ransom. How many MPs do they hope to get in 2015? Zero I predict.

Their leader's ambition seems to be to get a seat in the House of Lords, if there is room that is, and  become a TV chat show host.

Worst Farage is based in Brussels along with all his MEPs and post June 2014 that will become a near 100% commitment as he leads his pan Europe group into booing Barosso, Rumpy and Frumpy when they appear in the EU talking shop. As last time Farage will duck out of the Westminster elections and will no doubt describe comrade  Pearson as head and shoulders above all the other leadership candidates that will emerge following Farage's desertion to Brussels.

In contrast Alex Salmond and the main body of the SNP leadership live and work in Scotland. Its simple Mr Farage, you cannot lead a winning nationalist movement from the capital of the occupying power on whose payroll you are. Simples! Alex Salmond may not win Scots independence from England but Nigel Farage can never get the UK out of the EU!

Media wolf pack is closing in on UKIP

Wolves hunt in packs. The single out the weakest member of the prey group, harry and eventually kill it. The latest member of UKIP they have in their sights is Gerard Batten. Click on link below.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2551976/Ukip-MEP-calls-Muslim-code-conduct-Fresh-controversy-senior-figure-says-members-religion-sign-document-saying-reject-violence.html

Batten has had a bee in his bonnet on this topic for many years but the main news media now have his scent and will be ferreting around Mr Batten and the other UKIP hierarchy. I opine they will find plenty of good stories. I have even been approached! They have banned hunting foxes with hounds but UKIP is fair game and the media will pursue them mercilessly.

Farage is of course the big scalp they want and they will get it eventually. When and if that occurs UKIP will be finished as acredible political party.

UKIP's wheels are coming off

Last nights revelation on Newsnight that Farage's chosen UKIP Commonwealth spokesman, Mujeeb ur Reeman Bhutto was wanted in Pakistan  on kidnapping charges. He was fast tracked by UKIP aka Farage Party onto high profile TV programmes.

He organised a trip to a Leeds mosque for party leader Nigel Farage and canvassed with UKIP candidate Jane Collins during the 2012 Rotherham by-election something which annoyed the party faithfull

Worse, he was convicted in the UK for 7 years for being the chief of this kidnapping gang. He was granted asytum in the UK . I thought we were full up with foreign criminals but obviously not. Click below to tead the full unbelievable story.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-26019668

When I was a potential UKIP candidate I had to submit to a full police CRB check as part of Fuerher Farage's 2009 push to professionalise UKIP. Do CRB checks ignore 7 year jail sentences? Where did he come from? Farage's chums in the Tory party who don't want him back. Farage shoukd remember the old City adage  if something is too good to be true its invariably not true.

Its a typical Farage cock up. These will bring UKIP down soon. UKIP must ditch Farage and his crony Crowther asap if they want to succeed in 2015. They wil still get the EU hate vote this year ensuring another million for Farage and this cronies to touser. I hope this will be the last time and that Farage's EUKIP is consigned to the traqsh can of history.

Monday 3 February 2014

Crowther is losing his marbles

He has just banned a former UKIP Scotland chairman from UKIP for a 100 years! The chairman of London UKIP has been parachuted into pole position on UKIP's Scotland slate. Read it all on this link.

http://www.heraldscotland.com/news/home-news/fatwa-bans-former-ukip-chairman-from-party-for-100-years.23326536

Farage has obviously learned nothing from his recent Scottish trip.

Reuters breaking views think Carney may go well before 5 years

Reuters have put out an intersting clip to this effect.

http://uk.reuters.com/video/2014/01/13/reuters-tv-sochi-sponsors-poisoned-chalice?videoChannel=117765&videoId=276202402

Sorry about the advert at the start but persevere its worth listening to.

I guess they are saying the BoE job is a bit of a poisoned challice. Interest rates as I have opined will have to rise quite soon and if before the 2015 election the politicians will hang him out to dry. He also put his foot in it by getting involved in the Scottish referendum debate at his master's behest. Alex will have his revenge.

His political backers Osborne & Cameron are fair weather political friends who when the weather turns will hang him out to dry.

I think the London house price bubble is swelling up quickly. My forward guidance to Carney is to make sure his escape pod is ready.

Sunday 2 February 2014

Carney's DPhil supervisor agrees with Alec Salmond

Like Carney I did a DPhil at Oxford. Like Carney my supervisor was a Nobel prizewinner. Prof  Jim Mirrelees, economics Nobel laureate and Carney's supervisor disagrees with his former student. Every DPhil student I knew acknowledged their huge debt to their supervisor who finds them their thesis topic and invariably solves it for them as well.

Its all laid out in today's FT click below to read their words.

http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/aa0305d6-8a98-11e3-9c29-00144feab7de.html?siteedition=uk#axzz2s5uJItAp

As I explained two days ago Carney is dependent on Osborne & Cameron for his current and future jobs. Both Dave  /Gideon want a No vote to Scottish Independence so they and their mouthpiece Carney  are clearly biased against the Nationalists.

Following Ireland becoming independent in 1922 the Irish were pegged their pound to  sterling on a one for one basis with sterling being accepted equally with the Irish pound in Eire. This arrangement lasted until 1978, some 56 years until the Irish applied to join the EMS when the parity link was broken and a punt/pound exchange rate was introduced. What is sauce for the Irish must be sauce for the Scots and Mr Carney is talking ill researched rubbish..

I am baffled ( D Abbott's favourite word) to understand why the Tories oppose Scotland leaving which is hugely to their electoral advantage. For the same reason it is easy to understand is thicko Darling's fronting up  the better off together. Labour cannot govern in the UK without its 50 or so Scottish LabourMPs.

More subtly consider what might happen if Alec S wins his referendum this year 2014 but the Milliband wins an absolute majority in the 2015 UK General Election 9 months later on an electorate still including Scottish voters. What happens when Scotland then leaves the UK to all these Scottish Labour MPs? Milliband would have to call another election on the reduced electorate which he would certainly lose to the knights of the shires. I opine this is pressing reason for Labour opposing Scottish independence.

Scotland has been a Labour rotten borough since the days of MacMillan. The grim council housing estates like Easterhouse built to consolidate the Labour vote remind me of Eastern Europe communist constructions. Depressing and soul destroying. Little wonder life expectancy in these grim estates is so low. That is the real face of a Sottish vote rejecting independence.

Its not just in the House of Lords that Labour thwart the will of the people by electoral fiddles. Every party does its just Labour does it better.
