Farage has a back problem

Returning from one of my frequent holidays cruising around the Eastern Med and then through Suez to Aqaba I was surprised to read of Mr Farage's hospitalisation for a back operation. He has my sympathy and I wish him a full recovery. Back surgery can be tricky and can take a long time to recover from - ask Andy Murray!

This should act as awake up call for EUKIP which has for many years been a Farage cult, What happens when the cult leader is out of action? If I were thinking of making a large donation to UKIP like Mr Sykes I would want to know what the plan is if Farage is hors de combat before I signed any cheques. I opine there is no such plan. Why? Such a suggestion would have lead to immediate deselection from the potentially lucrtative MEP slate something no Faragista could contemplate.

Many politicians have suffered back problems. Jack Kennedy for one. He treated his condition by sex four times daily. Perhaps similar treatment will be prescribed for Mr F. I recollect the 14th Eatl of Home also had a back problem at the out break of WWII.

Robust good health is a pre-requisite for any political leader. Many have been forced out by health problems, McMillan, Eden, Wilson to name but a few. Ukip's problem is that like Stalin Farage has purged the party of all potential good leadership candidates. What is left just won't cut the mustard. Its a serious unexpected problem and potentially fatal problem for EUKIP.

He at least has some backbone, which is more than can be said for most of the others.
