Wisdom of the masses was proven right on Iraq

The reason experts and politicias are held in such low esteem is that they are so frequently wrong. It is as my Granny used to say , "He who pays the piper calls the tune". If you employ, ie pay for, experts they will tell you what you want to hear in anticipation of future commissions. Its the same with lawyers who get paid win or lose.

It is to the much maligned masses that you must turn for objective opinion on all matters. This is anathema to the political elite as it detroys their raison d'etre. This is what Farage tapped into big time.

In the run up to the Iraq war over a million people marched to protest in London.To be fair over 100 Labour MPs voted against Tony Blair's Iraq war motion but they were dismissed as Marxists, Corbynistas etc. The majotity who voted for us to Leave the EU will be proven right but hell will freze over before the BBC runs a headline, "BBC gets it wrong again"
