I had similar luck to be out of the country when all the media went potty over the death of the late Princess of Wales. It was still going strong when I got home but I think I would have been lynched if I had been here at the height of the hysteria.
He also seems to pass the Common Sense test, unusual for a PPE man in my experience. He does seem to have some practical ideas on how to leave the EU, first Norway then Canada. A lot clearer than Chequers."
