This question was answered on TW3 in the early sixties by Willy Rushton thus. The M-B is a special machine the Tories wheel out when they want to confuse the issue. Plus ca change plus c'est le meme chose. Its now called the BoJo.
The original M-B was ennobled as Viscount Dilhorne. He unfortunately chose to use his new title when calling the theatrical John Gielgud who did not recognise the name Dilhorne and replied he sounded just like M-B. Gielgud then added you know he, M-B, is the most boring man in London.. You could never call BoJo boring.
On the radio this morning I discovered the M-B dynasty survives and now promotes project Fear for the Establishment of which the M-B descendants ares obviously still part. No change there then as well.

Can’t remember the details but there was some scandal around Dr Hastings Banda, first president of Malawi ( previously Nyasaland
I remember one of the TW3 crowd talking about a great big clockwork toy called the Manninghambuller and saying “ so they wound him up”.
And everything was suddenly all right. Funny what sticks in your mind.!
Your memory serves you well Mr Spalton. Political dynasties persist for centuries
