However, and it would appear you will never concede this point, the EU are not our enemy but our potential trading partners and it is completely naive and pointless to keep talking of the EU in adversarial terms.

Of course the EU wants a trade deal with us and the only thing that will destroy the EU project is if they treat us the same, once we have left, as the other 27 that are still in the Single Market.

And do you still believe in Santa Major? The EU don't want a trade deal with us. A good trade deal for the UK will destroy the EU project.
