Tories show UKIP how to fight Newark by-election

Talk about shooting yourself in the foot the sight of Helmer on TV trying to defend employing an Italian Brussels based secretary when hundreds of unemployed UK graduates would give their eye teeth for such a job was laughable for a party that claims to uphold British standards. Italian politics is not known for its probity or hard work so why employ an Italian rather than a Brit? The phrases no fool like an old fool and charity begins at home spring to mind.

The Tories are throwing everything at this by election, click

http://www.conservativehome.com/parliament/2014/05/evidence-even-the-prime-minister-must-clock-in-for-campaigning-in-newark.html

to read how much effort the Tories are putting in to retain this seat. They know a UKIP win would be the end of Cameron and his EU loving Tory elite.

A brief summary of the article ,CCHQ is serious about demanding each MP visits three times, and each Cabinet Minister five, the following two photos of the attendance lists pinned up in the campaign office should dispel any doubts:

There is a list up on the white board for all to see and a less than perfect attendance will be career threatening for ambititious Tories. They are pulling out all the stops.

I wrote earlier that UKIP MEPs should be required to put in a full 7 day stint on the stump in Newark but have they?

Nigel was seen in Brussels on Thursday and Friday forming his pan European group to ensure his chauffeur driven limo and EU euros to reward his up and coming syscophants but the batlle is in Newark not Brussels! Does anyone in UKIP believe such a man can lead us out of the EU? He puts his purse and his sycophants before regaining our country.

UKIP are on a roll and could win even with the geriatric Helmer. I quote from Shakespeare's Julius Caesar and some informative context:

Brutus:
There is a tide in the affairs of men.
Which, taken at the flood, leads on to fortune;
Omitted, all the voyage of their life
Is bound in shallows and in miseries.
On such a full sea are we now afloat,
And we must take the current when it serves,
Or lose our ventures.
Julius Caesar Act 4, scene 3, 218–224
Brutus and Cassius are discussing the final phase of their civil war with the forces of Octavian and Marcus Antonius. Cassius has been urging that they group their forces at Sardis and take advantage of the secure location to catch their breath. Brutus, however, advocates heading off the enemy at Philippi before Octavian can recruit more men. Brutus's main point is that, since "the enemy increaseth every day" and "We, at the height, are ready to decline" (lines 216–217), he and Cassius must act now while the ratio of forces is most advantageous. "There's a tide in the affairs of men," he insists; that is, power is a force that ebbs and flows in time, and one must "go with the flow." Waiting around only allows your power to pass its crest and begin to ebb; if the opportunity is "omitted" (missed), you'll find yourself stranded in miserable shallows.

Exactly. This where UKIP are now at but Farage is more interested in EU Euros than UKIP victory.
If he does not win in Newark then this will have been UKIP's high water mark, a grubby tide mark on the bath tub of history..

Here is a possible picture of Helmer's Italian lady published by Guido Fawkes this evening. She is the dark haired one.

UKIP Cabal MEPs arrive in Brussels

I reproduce below a cartoon by satirical Polish artist Pawel Kuczynski

Wiiterings from Witney featured this but I felt it would bear further exposure.

UKIP has a potential earthquake by-election in 6 days time at Newark. Their office is open 9:00 to 17:30. How many UKIP MEPs are there and how many are getting their snouts in the trough?

It is truely Animal Farm and Communism all over again.

Tuesday 27 May 2014

Who will be the first UKIP MEP to jump ship?

Farage has previous form on losing MEPs as soon as they go to Brussels. Some don't like Nigel's nasty mid European friends. Some realise they have no further need for  Nigel. Others may not fit into the UKIP Brussels culture. Others may be seeing more of the monkey's bum than previously

Here is the list of the new intake.

East Midlands: Roger Helmer and Margot Parker.
East of England: Patrick O'Flynn, Stuart Agnew and Tim Aker.
London: Gerard Batten.
North East: Jonathan Arnott.
North West: Paul Nutttall, Louise Bours and Steven Woolfe.
Scotland: David Coburn.
South East: Nigel Farage, Janice Atkinson, Diane James and Ray Finch.
South West: William Dartmouth and Julia Reid.
Wales: Nathan Gill.
West Midlands: Jill Seymour, Jim Carver and Bill Etheridge.
Yorkshire & The Humber: Jane Collins, Amjad Bashir and Mike Hookem.
Scotland: David Coburn.
I must confess I have not met many of them so I will start with the hard core Farage worshippers who have benefitted from the patronage of the great leader
Jill Seymour
Paul Nuttall
Johnathan Arnott
Then there are those who can think for themselves and may have better offers. There are not many of these
Patrick O'Flynn
Julia Reid
Diane James
and possibly Stephen Woolfe
but that makes them the likliest to fall out with Nigel. Andreasen said he does not like intelligent women.
Some of the remainder are previous MEPs who will wish to keep in with  Nigel and stay on the EU gravy train. They have seen what happened to Nikki and Mike Natrass a case of pour encourager les autres so are unlikely to defect under any circumstances.
Gerard Batten
Roger Helmer
William Legge
Stuart Agnew

Of the rest I know nothing but I would welcome comments so I can construct my odds book and get a betting market going
So which green bottle will be first to fall? Again I welcome commments. Temptation will build up as we approach the General Election so I would anticipate the first defection around that time and when one goes others will follow.
The first guide will be who turns up and works hard at Newark next week excluding Helmer.

Congratulations to UKIP on topping the Euro poll.

My warmest congratulations to all in UKIP for coming first in the European elections and especially to Julia Reid for winning a seat in the SW region. I don't envy her having to work with William Legge whom I always found a very difficult man to deal with.

Hannibal won a great victory over a much bigger Roman army at Cannae on 2nd August 216 BC. One Roman historian reported 70000 Roman dead, 10000 prisoners and 3000 survivors. It was the worst Roman defeat ever. Hannibal's great calvary commander Maharabal urged an immediate attack on Rome. Hannibal prevaricated leading to Hasdrubal's admonition of his chief, "You know how to win a victory but not how to use a victory". The Romans eventually won 16 years later. Rome was never attacked.

Farage should learn this lesson from history. UKIP should now throw everything at next week's Newark by-election. No UKIP MEP should go to Brussels until after the by-election showing their total commitment to winning in the UK. All their MEPs should be seen pounding the pavements of Newark promoting the UKIP cause. Unfortunately thanks to Farage's love of sycophants, they have a poor candidate in Helmer, a broken down old Tory with lots of political baggage whilst the Conservatives have wisely chosen a new, young, bright, shiny  clean skin candidate who to defend their 16000 majority. Its a tough test which Farage failed in Bucks.Nevertheless its a battle worth fighting as victory would totally destabilise the Westminster political elite unlike Bucks which was entirely a Farage vanity project with no long strategic value for UKIP. Removing Bercow would have been doing the Tories a huge favour! Winning in Newark will do real damage to Cameron.

Will it happen like this or will the lure of EU lucre tempt UKIP's money loving MEPs away from the fight before the battle is won. Many medieval battles were lost through the cavalry ransacking the enemy baggage train before the battle was won turning victory into defeat. I heard O'Flynn saying on TV that he could 'obviously' not continue as UKIP's head of communications. The siren lure of the EU is strong and O'Flynn won't be the only one to succumb. Of the new intake Julia Reid is the only one I would trust to do the right thing. She fought against the EU in Wislon's fixed 1975 referendum.

If we ever get a referendum Cameron/Milliband will fix it as Wilson did 40 years ago. The only way to get out is to have a block of MPs at Westminster who hold the balance of power. This will enable us to get another referendum if the first is lost. Copy the EU tactics to win our cause and get our country back!

PS we cannot forget the huge support UKIP got from Cameron summed up by Tory blogger Tim Montgomerie thus:

"Spend most of your time as Tory leader ignoring the issue that matters most to your activist members: Europe. Launch your bid to be leader by promising to introduce a tax allowance for married couples and then, once you’ve won power, fail to deliver that pledge at four successive Budgets. Tell parents that they can set up any school they want as long as it’s not the one they most want, a grammar school. Stop Gordon Brown holding a honeymoon election in 2007 by promising to abolish inheritance tax but then put it up in office. Spend the general election campaign talking about an issue that no one understands — the Big Society — and don’t talk about immigration, an issue that three-quarters of voters do care about. Subsidise expensive renewable energies at a time when families are struggling to pay their electricity bills. Form a coalition with the Liberal Democrats even though 80 per cent of your members want you to lead a minority government. Promise not to reorganise the NHS, then reorganise it anyway. Oppose press regulation but then embrace it. Keep pledging to tackle European human rights laws but do nothing when Abu Qatada proves again and again that Britain is run by inventive lawyers rather than democratically-drafted laws. Insist that you want to reach out to northern and poorer parts of Britain but stuff your Downing Street operation with southern chums who attended the same elite private schools as you. And, just for good measure, insult people who normally vote for your party as clowns, fruitcakes and closet racists.”

Well done UKIP in the recent council elections

My congratulations to all those candidates who stood for UKIP in Thursday' local elections. They stood not for money or the passing fame of media appearances like many on the UKIP MEP slates but for our cause. This group gives us our best chance of getting out of the EU. Westminster Parliamentary constituencies are made up of contiguous local council wards so  these candidates have started on building up UKIP's profile in their local area for next May's general election.

However this will benefit  UKIP only if their Westminster candidates are chosen from this group of local activists and not from parachuted in self serving, money loving, publicity seeking MEPs of whom there will be many more come Monday morning. They are with a few exceptions a worthless bunch of Farage sycophants living, wining and dining in Brusssels flattered and feted by the cunning EU. They are EU kept animals in a comfortable zoo whom the media can gawp at from time to time whilst Farage and Legge make clowns of themselves in the Brussels talking shop. The pity is they make UKIP a laughing stock as well. They are domestic electoral liabilities as will be seen at Newark in 14 days time.

We now have a chance of getting our country back with those decent hard working local  candidates who live and work in the UK. It is up to the local parties now to back their own people and not kow tow to Farage and his cabal. It was UKIP's emphasis on the immigration issue which generated UKIP's wonderful result . Farage hi-jacked this but in trurh some his performances on radio and TV were woeful. The Crick  idea that from his new MEPs Brussels elite  he can construct some sort of shadow cabinet is laughable. It would be better to keep most of them in a cupboard and throw away they key.

My near neighbour Paddy put the LibDem show together building from the grass roots in places like Liverpool. He showed how to do it. Note how the LibDems are falling apart under the Brussels and London schooled Clegg elite. The warning is clear for UKIP. Keep it local and win. .Be seduced by the Brussels/London elite and media  and lose. But they lose for you the decent UKIP members who won this triumph on Thursday.

Farage does not want to lead Referendum out campaign

000a Spectator-021 out.jpg

Thus opines the Spectator or perhaps he does not want to with Dave, in whose power is seats on the red leather that Farage craves, campaigning to stay in. Also of course Nigel's paymasters in the EU might take a dim view of such activity and cut off his privileges and pension rights. Nothing is ever what it seems with Farage.

Leading the biggest delegation of UK MEPs will obviously take up so much of the great leader's time he might have to entrust the UK election to one of his most trusted and most incompetent subordinates. But who to choose, there are so many.

Farage good on R4 this morning with Humphrys

Farage stuck to UKIP's core message, refused to be distracted, and got UKIP's message across very well in my opinion, Click below within 7 days to listen.

O'Brien had done his homework and caught Farage out repeatedly. He also picked up on Farage's switch selling tactics. This is the first time I have heard Mr O'Brien. He is very good and I hope he gets a chance to similarly grill Clegg, Cameron and Milliband. I fear however having watched this evisceration LibLabCon will not be available as they say.

UKIP MEP seats for sale

Today's Times runs a page 1/2 story plus pages 14/15 on this topic which seems to lean heavily on the words of Mr Bannerman. He is of course no relation to the Liberal PM whose towering achievement was to die in Downing Street in 1908. Would that some of his successors had followed his fine example. It would have saved the British people much hardship.

It seems the Times has discovered that large donations to UKIP can ennsure your place very high on their MEP slates for various regions something everyone in UKIP knew. They have discovered the elderly husband of Jill Seymour has been making such donations and lo and behold Jill is now nunber one on the West Midlands slate.

Bannerman is obviously embittered. He was happy to do Nigel's bidding getting me off the NEC etc to ensure his place on the Eastern region list. Others have seen what has happend to him, Natrass and Nikki all of whom wanted to continue on the EU gravy train but are now frozen out by Nigel pour encourager les autres as they say in Brussels. Bannnerman's claim that he did a good job in Brussels is as laugable as Clarke pleading he could not oppose the Lisbon Treaty in the HoL committe because of the pressure of his work for the EU. Its called going native and generally takes less than 24 hours in Brussels.

I think Stuart Wheeler and Alan Bown were quite right to demand a contribution from UKIP MEPs of £10k. After all they were not elected on their own merits but on the back of the hard work by UKIPs PBI.
The best excuse for not parting with any money came from Farage's previous protege Andreasen who claimed she ws not liable as she was not a British citizen just a protege, now ex-protege, of Farage. Its getting to be quite a club Farage's ex-proteges.

Anyway off to la belle France tonight so no more blogging for a while. Good luck to UKIP and the Nattrass party in the Euro elections. Don't be too disappointed if you come second to Dave as long as you wipe out the LibDem EU loving slime.

Another Farage cutie bites his vitals

Only on Sunday I wrote of the damage Alexandra Swain, Farage protege, was doing to UKIP. Its deja vu all over gain with the girl below, Sanjay-Jeet Thandi..

who is also of Indian origin and so ticked 3 of Farage's boxes, female, young & ethnic. She came out in the Guardian yesterday saying UKIP is racist, somehing picked up in today's Telegraph.

This is the latest in a long line of embarassing people ushered into the higher echelons of UKIP by Farage. Last MEP cycle it was Marta Andreasen who has now defected to the Tories. Farage thinks he is using these women but in truth the boot is on the other foot, they are using Farage to get status, positon and publicity. But as the old saw goes, faced with a pretty girl with her own agenda there is no fool like an old fool.

Its not just young women, Marta was scarcely in the first flush of youth, but ex-Tory ladies of a similar age, Suzanne Evans, Janice Atkinson etc.

This is all very damaging for UKIP. These pretty girls have been plastered all over the papers in the last few days. Party youth wings have always been an embarassment.  The young Liberals in the 70s were more left wing than the UK communist party!

I could accept Farage's obsession with photo opportunitieswith young females if  he showed some respect for the hard working elederly majority in UKIP whose efforts have put Farage and his cabal where they are today. But all he does is smear them as dinosaurs and talk of moving on.

UKIP's problem is with its leader not its membership.

Two LibDem hypocrites not to vote for

This dropped through our door 10 days ago. First notice how both make their eyes glisten with insincerity and their whole demeanour of smarm which they hope will induce the voter to believe they are honest and trustworthy. Don't be taken in by these two political charlatans.

Fact, the one on the left, David Laws our MP, currently complaing about his boss Michael Gove, the Eduction secretary  spending part of the education on free schools. Shock horror, an education minister spending public money on schools!

Laws of course gave his personal dollop of public money for his expenses, some £40k,  to his homosexual partner or bum boy as we used to call them at my pre PC school. Laws when caught, repaid the money and has now been reinstated as an allbeit as a more junior minister by Cameron. Non MPs have of course have been prosecuted for fraud for much smaller sums in similar circumstances.

The one on the  right is Graham Watson, MEP for the SW region. He was for many years a severe critic of the honours system and its political abuses, however when a knighthood was offered to him in 2011 he accepted and now loves to be called Sir Graham. The reason for his K is given in Wikipedia as,

Watson was knighted in the 2011 Birthday Honours for political and public service. This follows the precedents under which UK MEPs Henry (now Lord) Plumb and Pauline Green were knighted after having led pan-European political groups in the European Parliament."

No wonder the ordinary citizens of the UK dislike professional political careerists like Watson. UKIP rightly exploits this but I look forward to UKIP's first political services knight putting the confirming that Farage's EUKIP has really joined the political establishment. Who will be the first UKIP knight? Farage is eligible under the Watson rules. Will he take it?

Nominations please in the comments box for the recipient of UKIP's first K. I will offer odds on  the runners and riders when I have sufficient nominations.

Farage's poor choice of people lets down UKIP

Farage gave a good solid performance with Andrew Neil today. He talked about what he wanted to discuss and avoided being drawn  in to traps by Neil who was not at his best and his line of questioning was very predictable. Farage got away with a couple of woppers. He does not want to go to the House of Lords and he had no hand in Helmers's selection as UKIP candidate for Newark. Those of us who know the man know this is as unlikely as the Pope canonising Vladimir Putin.

Farage is a poor judge of people something which will increasingly put UKIP on the back foot as UKIP candidates and officials come under increasing media scrutiny and stings. Thus the Daily Mail today 'exposes' Helmer's liitle adventures with one Alexandra Swain a 26 yearold blond defector from the Tories click below to read the full details.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2625285/Married-UKIP-politician-70-accused-taking-young-female-researcher-strip-club-threatening-trash-reputation-told-pressuring-resign.html

She is a pretty girl

Alexandra Swann said she was sacked by UKIP MEP Roger Helmer after he took her to a lap dancing club

but as they say there is no fool like an old fool. But who gave Ms Swain a VIP ticket into UKIP? Nigel Farage of course she is the latest in a long line of such people and as long as Farage stays leader she won't be the last!

As I wrote earlier selecting Helmer was a huge mistake. The best candidates are 'clean skins'. Helmer with his vast amount of political baggage is a gift for the media and ensures UKIP cannot win in Newark. A clean skin would have made things much harder for the Daily Mail.

UKIP choose Roger Helmer as their Newark candidate

I quote from Guido,

UKIP have selected Roger Helmer, recently exposed for a series of bizarre views in the Sun, as their candidate in Newark. He has more than a few skeletons in his closet. That's what you call a brave choice

No Guido that's Farage choosing a certain loser. Nigel cannot afford another Mrs James who might win and go on to challenge him for the leadership before he gets his peerage. I have only met Helmer the once in the company of Alan Sked. Helmer is not in Sked's league. He is just another broken down old Tory understandably no longer wanted by Dave seeking a cushy lucrative billet for the next 5 years. Like Gill he suits Farage down to the ground. He denies younger more attractive candidates the oxygen of publicity.

Like all old Tories Helmer comes with a huge amount of baggage. Hardly the sort to challenge the political establishment of which he was a member for many years.

Its an incredible choice until you understand Farage, his real agenda and motives and it ain't getting us out of the EU.

Helmer recently featured in the Sun thus:

ONE of Ukip’s most senior MEPs has claimed homosexuality is “abnormal and undesirable” - and should not be “celebrated”.

Roger Helmer, 70, also said being gay is “not a valid lifestyle worthy of equal respect”.

It beggars belief UKIP should choose such a man in a high profile, posssible break through by-election if Farage was serious about winning the seat.  Even Godfrey Bloom would have been a better choice!

Farage still has a way to go.

Media change tactics on attacking Farage

It has become clear over the last two days that the new line is to deny Farage the oxygen of publicity by ignoring him. This is what they should have been doing all along but when idiot Clegg chose to have not one but two high profile televised debates with Farage the cat was out of the bag. Farage is a good debater and Clegg, well, he is just a member of the political elite chattering class with no idea how real people think.

Ann Treneman in today's Times has also picked up on this, "As I understand it Dave is under strict instructions not to mention The Nigel.. The subject is omerta for the very good reason that all publicity is good publicity" So Dave has a free licence to talk about God ad even egg throwing provided he does not mention you know who.

That's just basic politics, don't talk about the oppo talk about yourself'. Its frightening we have such a dumbo PM.

I picked up on this two days ago when someone from the Times phoned me up for some background info on UKIP's electoral processes. I have a lot of time for journalists, we don't get near the truth from any other group. Sure there are some scum bag scribblers but every profession has its bad eggs. Its best to throw these at Nigel who has liking for, and large collection of, political bad eggs. He keeps them in a cupboard along with a number of  political skeltons but he is now in the market for a bigger cupboard. I believe the Brussels offices provided for MEP group leaders like NF have very large cupboards purpose built for storage of this sort of material.  So problem solved by Nigel's wonderful EU.
